Pal-Think airs first episode of its “Electoral Issues” podcast
As part of the activities of the project “Towards a Society More Aware of its Electoral Rights,” implemented by Pal-Think in cooperation with the Central Elections Commission and funded by the European Union, in partnership with civil society institutions 2021/Phase 2, Pal-Think has broadcast the first episode of the radio program “Electoral Issues,” entitled “Stages of Election.” The podcast episode was aired on Zaman FM on Monday and Wednesday of this week at 12 p.m. The series includes 8 radio episodes.
Sameer ELmana’ma, a lawyer at Al Mezan Center for Human Rights and the podcast guest, talked about the stages of the election. He started with the initial stage: election advocacy, voter registration, publication and opposition, nomination. This stage extends for 12 days in general elections, and for 10 days in local elections. Also, the elector campaigns extend for 21 days in general elections and 13 days in local elections. Then he mentioned the polling period, ballot counting, and the final stage which is the announcement of final results according to which the elections result is declared throughout the country by the Central Elections Commission at a press conference.
