PalThink for Strategic Studies has continued its ‘Youth Dialogue’ radio program in which young people discuss ideas and opinions through debates and conversations, aiming to foster mutual understanding on social issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

This program is part of the \u201cBuilding Tomorrow\u2019s Leaders for Palestine\u201d project, implemented by PalThink for Strategic Studies and FXB, aims to build youth leaders in Palestinian society, enhance their capacities for societal development, and empower them to participate in decision-making.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sixth episode of the program, titled \u201cThe Dominant Patriarchal Culture in Palestinian Society,\u201d hosted Abdullah Al-Baba, a youth activist and a participant in the project, and Dr. Khatam Abu Ouda, a researcher in humanities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdullah talked about his experience with debates and how he learned and applied them as a means of dialogue in everyday life. He also discussed the influence of patriarchal authority on development.<\/span><\/p>\n

He highlighted the obstacles faced by youth under the patriarchal authority and the challenges in bridging the generation gap to avoid clashes between parents and children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Abu Ouda spoke about the concept of patriarchy and its origins in the society and its link to the male-dominated society. She discussed patriarchy\u2019s impact on individual lives and its positive impacts in children’s decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the seventh episode titled ‘Palestinian Youth Awareness of Palestinian Narratives,’ Sondos Sabra, a young participant of the project, and Dr. Talal Abu Rukba, a political affairs researcher, were invited as guests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sondos talked about her experience as a participant of the project and how it positively affected her in terms of learning debating, enabling her to discuss issues important to Palestinian youth. She addressed various topics related to Palestinian narratives, the role of youth in promoting these narratives, their supportive perspective, and the steps and challenges they may face in supporting Palestinian narratives.<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Dr. Abu Rukba highlighted the importance of implementing programs that target young people to support the Palestinian cause and narrative. He discussed the historical stages of the Palestinian issue and their impact on the Palestinian narrative.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both guests also discussed the significance of social media in strengthening the Palestinian narrative and the role of youth in supporting it, as well as the importance of youth awareness of the Palestinian cause as a means of unity and ending divisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the eighth episode titled ‘Gender Justice’ the young activists Aya Ashour and Mohammed Adwan discussed their experience with debates and how it influenced their university lives, understanding of dialogue, and acceptance of different opinions through training and exchanging ideas and points of view.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also discussed the concept of gender justice, its impact on societal awareness, the role of technology in promoting gender justice and breaking barriers, the difficulties in achieving gender justice, and its significance in preserving societal cohesion.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the tenth and final episode titled ‘Societal Peace and Ways to Achieve It,’ young activist Ayman Mohammed and social activist Osama Murtaja spoke about how the project raised their awareness about the acceptance of others’ opinions and societal peace and its components, as well as its impact on individuals and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Osama discussed the threats to societal peace and ways to achieve it, emphasizing its importance and the necessity to achieve it to end Palestinian divisions.<\/span><\/p>\n
