While uttered in an American context the importance of diversity and pluralism rings just as seminal in the Palestinian Territories as well. While often informed by the on-going conflict with Israel, it is often underreported that the Palestinian Territories is often informed by a diverse and pluralistic cultural and religious identity. BBC\u2019s Alan Johnston reported in 2005 that Greeks, Egyptian Pharaohs, Persians, Romans, Crusaders, Ottomans and the British had all left a mark on the Palestinian Territories\u2019 cultural history. Moreover, demographically, the Palestinian Territories also encompass a robust landscape of religious diversity.
